Spread the love

These Lasagna sheets are so easy to make and absolutely fresh tasting, they are great for an amazing lasagna recipe if you are making everything from scratch!

This recipe is so simple and easy because it only consists of two ingredients, eggs and flour! I love baking lasagna but only for special occasions since its kind of a ritual to bake for me! i make everything from scratch, i use chunks of beef and i even make my own marinara sauce!

So a few months ago i moved to another city which is completely out of lasagna sheets or i think they don’t sell it at all here, but believe me nothing can stop me to make lasagna not even the shortage of those sheets!

So i had to make my own, and the recipe is super simple. honestly, i enjoy the work of hands, the love and passion that goes into making each and every part of the dough and sheets so the end product is something very wholesome.

For this recipe, i used simple all purpose flour because that was all i had but you can use 00 flour too, there is no difference in the finished result. just keep in mind that for every one cup of flour, use of egg.

Pour the flour like a doom on a clean work surface. Make a hole in the center of your flour, and crack the eggs in the hole. using your fingers, slowly work the flour into the eggs and knead the dough until its homogeneous and doesn’t stick to your hand. put the dough into a zip lock, let it rest for about 30 minutes. then flour the surface, the dough and the rolling pin so that it doesn’t stick to each other.

After rolling the dough thin enough for about 3 millimetres, cut it with a sharp knife, and put in a sealed bowl or cover it with a slightly damp towel otherwise the sheets will dry out. Cover the rest of the dough and the sheets while working on others.

These sheets are so fresh they only need just one minute of boiling. put them into hot boiling water with a dash of salt, then assemble as usual for you lasagna!
